Item Description

Djurleite is a rare copper sulfide that is seldom available on the market in well-crystallized examples. This piece was mined circa 1998 and comes from the limited material that made its way out of Kazakhstan. This piece of notably striated, prismatic monoclinic crystals of lead-grey Djurleite in a three-dimensional twisting group on very minor matrix. The largest crystal measures 1.1 cm and really looks beautiful up close. This is a well-crystallzied example of a mineral that is hard to find for sale these days, so don't miss out. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#13196). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
