A richly colored and visually appealing specimen of cobalt-bearing Dolomite from the Katanga Copper Crescent in DR Congo. Cobalt is a powerful chromophore, creating some of the most vivid hues in the mineral world, especially in certain carbonate species. This piece is a beautiful crystallized "mound" featuring a coverage of vivid purplish-pink, translucent crystal aggregates on matrix. No major damage on the top/display side of the piece, and that color just GLOWS when the piece is backlit. Priced at $1,000 in the inventory.
