Item Description

A very rarely seen specimen featuring a predominant hollow "cast" / pseudomorph of pearly beige Dolomite which has replaced preexisting Calcite with additional pseudomorphs of equal quality sitting on Galena matrix. This is clearly rare and hard to find material, as I can't find another specimen of Dolomite from anywhere in the Munstertal. If you collect pseudomorph or replacement specimens, or simply German minerals, don't miss out on this attractive and unusual piece from the Black Forest. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2198). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
