Dolomite & Quartz

Pearlescent, pleasing pastel-pink, sharp dolomite rhombs, to 3.1 cm on the diagonal, are aesthetically clustered on the sculptural large quartz point plate. Scattered tiny brassy pyrites add pizzazz. The bottom of this two-sided rib is totally covered with quartz crystals, as a bonus. A bruised rhomb corner is noted, but is certainly only a modest detraction to this very fine and rare combination from this famous Chinese mine. Specimens of this rare dolomite and quartz combination, without fluorite, came out in the mid-2000s.
