The Pomba Pit at Brumado, Brazil is one of the largest magnesite deposits in the world. The material is quarried for the magnesium content which is used as a refractory material in the steel industry. These crystals are some of the finest examples of the species known, but another carbonate, dolomite is ALSO found at the Pomba Pit. Dolomite from this locality twins in interesting patterns, forming fat pseudo-triangular crystals. This is a cluster of dolomite "pseudotriangular" twins, the largest reaching 7.4 cm, all sharp and interesting, with gemmy cores. From an older find, a decade ago, and such large, gemmy, well developed crystals are now (and always were) rare! This is impressive in person, with amazing symmetries. Valued $1000-1500
