Item Description

A DRAMATIC, EXCELLENT and AESTHETIC calcite specimen from the famous Nchwaning II Mine of South Africa and the Rob Smith Collection. A 5.8 cm, doubly terminated, pristine, glassy, water-clear, parallel-growth, compound calcite crystal is very jauntily attached to massive manganite matrix. One face of the manganite is covered with sparkly, oxide-included, tiny calcite crystals and another side is coated with scintillating, specular hematite! Facinating! The calcite crystals share the same frontal face and the back shows the two, parallel-growth crystals. A very interesting phenomenon. Valued at $750-1000 and well worth it.
