Item Description

A rarely seen matrix specimen of Dravite Tourmaline on matrix from the Landanai locality in Tanzania. This piece hosts a prismatic, 1.6 cm trigonal crystal of dark brownish-green colored Dravite, sitting atop notably thick, crystals of grey-white colored Albite matrix. The Tourmaline gets is strong color from chromium and/or vanadium content. I can't remember seeing Albite crystals of this thickness from this locality, or virtually any other world locality.
