Item Description

Some of the finest and most well-known examples of the Tourmaline species Dravite are those from the Yinnietharra Station locality in Western Australia. These crystals are notably large for the species, along with being very well-formed, and crystals are often doubly-terminated "floaters". This specimen is a great example of this classic material featuring a stout, prodigious, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, rich golden-brown colored, doubly-terminated trigonal prismatic crystal. The piece has no matrix, but I can't call it a complete "floater" because there are a couple points of contact. It's still in marvelous shape, and one rarely sees such thick and well-formed crystals from this locality these days. A must have for any Tourmaline collection. Valued at $500.
