Item Description

Please Note: This piece came labeled as coming from "Coedly" (Coed-Ely) in Wales, UK, but it looks fairly similar to the specimens from Yinnietharra, Western Australia, Australia. Additionally, I can't find a listing for Dravite from Coed-Ely or ANY other locality in Wales for that matter. The number on the specimen matches the label, so it doesn't seem to be a mixup in terms of the label. If anybody out there has some insight as to where this piece might be from, please let us know so we can correct the information on this listing. The piece is a notably sharp, well-formed, lustrous, prismatic, trigonal crystal of dark bronze-gold colored Dravite that is actually doubly-terminated and in excellent condition, save a few minor rough spots. An interesting and attractive crystal with a somewhat dubious origin. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6713). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
