Item Description

Tourmaline is well-known as one of the most colorful minerals in the world, and it's one of the few species that is often found in multi-color crystals. This piece is certainly one of the most unique examples we've had to offer as it's not only an uncommon species of Tourmaline (Dravite), but it also features an alluring combination of colors. This toenail size crystal has a gorgeous silvery-blue color on the upper portion with a distinct "Cat's Eye" appearance, that makes a dramatic shift into a gemmy, saturated golden/root beer hue at the base. The crystal is somewhat compressed, with dramatic striations and angular faces, giving it even more enticement and intrigue. This is a far cry from the typical pink and green bi-colored Tourmalines we're used to seeing on the market, and if you're a fan of gem crystals or worldwide Tourmalines, do not miss out on this wonderful and certainly distinctive specimen for your collection. The piece weighs 6.7 grams. From the collection of Tim Sherburn.
