Item Description

An exceptional, old, bi-colored barite from the famous iron mines of Frizington. Two, doubly terminated, intergrown, parallel-growth clusters of glassy and translucent barite blades form this striking piece. The jagged multiple terminations, like sharks teeth, and the amber terminations above light blue cores are remarkable. Complete all-around and pristine, the undamaged contact is on the back of the piece. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $150, for free. Ex Phil Scalisi Collection and comes with an old Foote label, probably dating from 1880-1895. Classic, highly unusual and very showy old barite! Fairly valued at $2000.
