Item Description

Blodite is a rare hydrated sulfate found in oceanic and lacustrine salt deposits and in nitrate deposits in arrid regions. This is an outstanding example of the rare species. This pristine, doubly terminated, dark gray, floater crystal is lustrous, transparent to translucent and has very sharp faces and edges. The chisel-like or boat prow terminations are facinating. Excellent material from the famous Soda Lake area of California. Ex Carlton Davis Collection.
