Item Description

The Wushan Spessartine Mine is world-famous for its fine spessartine, smoky quartz and feldspar combinations - but rarely, it produces fluorites too. This is an exceptional, very large for the locale and sharp single doubly terminated octahedron. Most of the lustrous crystal is opaque very dark purple, BUT corners and edges LIGHT up with gorgeous rich violet gemmy translucence, when brightly lit or back lit. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. The couple of contacts have very little actual damage and the attachment is out-of-sight on the back. Very choice and rare single fluorite from the locale and the Bonisoli Collection.
