Item Description

Hanksite is an ultra rare, hexagonal, sulfate carbonate found in lacustrine evaporite deposits. This strikingly symmetrical, doubly terminated, floater crystal is from the Type Locality - Searles Lake in California. One termination is pristine and the other is very gently bruised. A snow-white alteration coating has a dramatic effect on the hanksite crystal. Ex Carlton Davis Collection.
