DT Schorl (Whitmore Coll.)

Item Description

Schorl specimens, especially of this excellent quality, are uncommon from this less well-known New Hampshire pegmatite. A 4.2 cm, doubly terminated, lustrous crystal is dramatically set on the matrix of quartz and albite. Just a bit of termination edge wear is noted on both ends, which is certainly a modest detraction to this rarity. This fine combination piece displays beautifully without aid.
