Item Description

Gem, very glassy, intergrown doubly terminated and twinned calcite crystals with highly desirable golden-amber color from the famous Elmwood Mine. The small blade of silicified limestone matrix is a very cute accent to this sculptural, nearly pristine small cabinet. The two tips on the primary end have only very gentle bruising. The other end is contacted, but there is very little actual damage. An attachment point on the middle of the back side has embedded barite. Excellent and classic calcite from the Dr. Francesco Bedogne Collection # 318. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector.
