Item Description

A highly unusual, interesting and very showy vanadinite thumbnail from the classic, but now hard to obtain source of the San Carlos Mine of Chihuahua, Mexico. The doubly terminated, hexagonal crystals have an unusual, preferential, calcite druse on the lustrous, translucent, golden-yellow to rust-brown prisms. The upper terminations are strangely hoppered and the calcite rhombs on either side are a nifty accent. The back of the larger prism termination is contacted, but is out of sight. RARE in this quality and crystal form. These came out in the 1970s and 70s, with none since. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection. .
