Item Description
Dumortierite is an uncommon borosilicate. A striking spray of vitreous, glassy, grayish, orthorhombic prisms to a large 9.3 cm is attractively set in the starkly contrasting matrix of chatoyant lilac muscovite or dumortierite. A fine and rich specimen from this well-known California locale from the Bob Trimingham Collection and previously in the Gene Darter Collection.
