Item Description

Dundasite is a realatively uncommon secondary lead carbonate found in the oxidization zone of lead deposits. All sides of the vuggy, sculptural gossan matrix are richly covered with clusters of tiny botryoids and crusts of pastel-blue dundasite and nicely accented with nifty cerussite needle crystals. This uncommon and showy older specimen hails from an obscure lead-zinc mine in New Zealand, that was first active in 1890 and later in 1969-1974. Ex Howard Belsky Collection.
