Item Description

A very fine, showy and rich old-time specimen of scintillating, sharp, royal-blue azurite crystals to about 1.0 cm filling a sculptural vug in sturdy gossan matrix from Bisbee. The crystals have gorgeous "electric-blue" highlights under bright light. The malachite rimming the vug adds color and character. The Dr. Ed David label says Copper Queen Mine, but most such specimens came from the nearby Czar Shaft. Ex Louis d'Alonzo Collection. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and has assembled several world-class mineral collections. Valued at $1200. CLASSIC and excellent Bisbee.
