Item Description

Scintillating spherical aggregates tiny sharp navy-blue azurite crystals dramatically fill a sculptural vug in this fine combination specimen from this less well-known Chinese skarn and porphyry-type copper-gold deposit. Some of the azurite balls on the left side of the vug have been pseudomorphed by malachite, adding pizzazz, on the primary malachite matrix. The azurites glow with electric-blue color under bright light. Specimens of this quality came out about ten years ago and are uncommon. The piece displays well without aid.
