Elegant Gold (octahedrons and spinel-twins)

An extremely elegant gold thumbnail from the famous Eagles Nest Mine. This amazing, 3-dimensional, arborescent cutie is composed entirely of bright, very sharply crystallized, intergrown octahedrons and spinel-twins in attached plates. Many of both types of crystals are beautifully hoppered. A normal Eagles Nest gold of this size would be valued at about $1000, as they are usually flat. This piece, however, is at the top of the charts -- beautifully, sharply and richly crystallized with exquisite, sculptural quality. It almost looks as good on the back! This piece is definitely worth a premium, especially with gold currently at over $1100 per ounce. Fairly valued at $1500-2000.
