Emerald

Item Description

A stout, 6.6 x 3.0 cm, euhedral, pleasing green emerald crystal is aesthetically set in CABINET matrix of diopside, quartz and purple fluorite in this dramatic specimen from recent finds in China. One end of the large crystal is partially terminated. There is another 5.0 x 2.0 cm emerald on the back. While these crystals certainly are not as gemmy as good Colombian ones, they are lustrous and translucent. The rest of the emerald terminations are broken. The purple fluorite and emerald association is RARE. A very highly representative, uncommon and large example of the combination species from this locality.
