Item Description

Two beautiful gem emerald crystals are aesthetically set in the sculptural schist matrix on this classic specimen from this famous Austrian Alpine locale. The glassy, lustrous, textbook, hexagonal crystals, to 1.7 cm, have rich green color saturation. One side has been sawed and the piece has two very fine display views. Probably old-time material, but no proof. Ex Dr. Francesco Bedogne # 338. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. The gem quality of these crystals is certainly above average for the locale.
