Emerald on Calcite (excellent)

A very fine and elegant matrix emerald specimen from this famous mine. Two gemmy and lustrous crystals, to 1.8 cm, are adorably set in the blocky calcite and shale matrix. The beautiful, pristine crystals have rich green color saturation and lightly frosted terminations. The upper few millimeters of each crystal is nicely gemmy. We recently obtained this in a collection and believe that the small crystal has been repaired back in place where it would belong, and the larger crystal looks both in place and legitimate. Considering the prices on emeralds these days, this is an exceptional and highly display-worthy matrix emerald for an auction! It is a piece with a really aesthetic balance from this locale. It has two excellent display views. It would easily be worth $2500 and more at a show.
