Item Description

An old-time specimen of Peruvian Enargite featuring some attractive crystals of the species from the TYPE LOCALITY! It's nearly impossible to find Enargites from this locality. Many beautiful, sharp, lustrous, striated, metallic silvery-grey colored orthorhombic prisms of this copper arsenic sulfosalt measuring up to 3 mm sit on "drusy" Quartz on matrix. The Enargites have a lovely slightly iridescent patina, and many of them are undamaged with good terminations. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4689). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
