Item Description

A rich, aesthetic and rare miniature from this granite pegmatite, known for phosphate species. The very sculptural plate is dramatically festooned with diverging clusters of lustrous, translucent, orangy-brown, partially frosted, terminated eosphorite prisms, to 2.0 cm. The frosting is Greifensteinite or Zanazziite, rare complex Be-phosphates, members of the Roscherite Group. The matrix plate is interesting in itself, being VERY RARE Cookeite (not listed by MINDAT for the locale) with Quartz. Obtained from respected Brazilian dealer Luis Menezes. An impactful phosphate rarity, not diminished by a few broken crystals. Combination specimens of this richness and quality are RARE from here.
