A significant specimen for the species, featuring a radial arrangement of large, blocky, textbook crystals of epidote. This was from a small erratic find in 2018, and was by far and away the best of the pocket. It disappeared from Peru quickly, and ended up here in the USA for cleaning and trimming. It is complete, pristine except the edges, and highly aesthetic. It throws off flashes of green skin, when well lit, reminiscent of the best of Alaska epidotes. If it were from Alaska, it would be priced at six figures! It LOOKS like Alaskan material, but comes from a freak find in Peru. For what it is worth, it was first offered at $25,000 directly from Lima, and valued highly even at the source at the time. Donated by Stuart Wilensky to the Museum's benefit, including a custom base for free.
