Epidote (ex Rolando Gioia Collection)

Item Description

A very attractive display specimen from Capelinha featuring an intergrown next of very sharp, well-formed, lustrous dark green, prismatic Epidote crystals. The largest crystal measures 3.2 cm. Some of the Epidote crystals are unfortunately contacted, but several of them show nice terminations. The piece is highly aesthetic, and one rarely sees such a nice "jackstraw" group of Epidote like this from Capelinha. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
