Superb Epidote cluster from the famous, and classic, find in Italy. The crystals are everything you would want : a lovely deep olive green, and with superb glassy luster and considerable translucency/gemminess. The main crystal is 2 mm x 2 cm, and tabular. It rests on a base of equally attractive 1-2 cm crystals. A killer - aesthetic and hard to find in this quality. BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE: it is also a rare variety of magnesium-rich epidote from a famous find in the 1970s. Thus this is an important locality specimen, but its also a superb piece aesthetically, Valued at $900-1000.
