Item Description

The 2.0 cm long crystals of highly lustrous, iridescent magenta erythrite, resting on the side of a quartz matrix, make this both an important and a beautiful example of the classic erythrites that were the finest known to the early European mineralogists. Oxide-coated quartz crystals and galena cubes are noted on one face of the matrix. This is classic, old-time material from this noted locale, which includes the species Type Locality - the Daniel Mine. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
