Item Description

Here we have a wonderful cabinet matrix specimen of this well known copper arsenate from the type locality. Lubietova (Libethen) is actually and old "Dana Locality" that dates back hundreds of years. This area has been a source of some of the most well-known and classic minerals from eastern European. This piece hosts a few gemmy, rich emerald green, EUHEDRAL, sharp, lustrous, thin, striated, orthorhombic crystals of Euchroite measuring up to 4 mm on matrix. Most of the Euchroite on the specimen is massive / uncrystallized, but there are some really good distinct crystals to be found. I think my favorite aspect of the piece is that the Euchroite crystals truly are not altered, or dull, or pitted, but rather smooth, colorful and lustrous! Really good Euchroites sell for good money these days, and matrix specimens like this are certainly sought after on the market.
