Item Description

A beautiful and fine quality toenail specimen from the 2020 find at the Chiá Mine in Brazil featuring a rather lustrous, colorless, doubly-terminated prismatic crystal of Euclase which associated with white, slightly translucent, blocky crystals of K Feldspar (var: Adularia) and a rich golden colored layered crystal group of Muscovite on the back. The piece sits quite nicely on its own without the aid of a base or clay. I can't find any damage, and looking closely, I can see there are actually a couple of little Euclase crystals flaring off of the larger Euclase. Typically Euclase is found in loose single crystals, and they're rarely doubly-terminated, so to find a piece like this with associated minerals (I wouldn't necessarily call it a matrix piece, but it's close) is certainly rare. Overall this is a fine quality example of these limited specimens, and if you missed out on them when they first came out, this is a great change to pick up a really choice example for your collection. From the collection of Brian Kosnar. I would value this one at $3,000 retail based upon the quality, size and associations.
