Item Description

Euxenite is an uncommon REE oxide found in granite pegmatites. MINDAT lists numerous localities for Norway, but specimens are rare and are seldom on the market. The subhedral thumbnail crystal has a tan oxidized rind. The broken base reveals the very glassy, translucent, dark brown euxenite with vitreous luster. An excellent highly representative example of the species from an unknown Norway locale from the David Burgess Collection. Burgessite is named after David.
