Item Description

Fairfieldite is a rare phosphate and holmquistite is a rare amphibole group species. As such, this is an extremely rare and combination specimen from the LCA Mine, a pegmatite mined for lithium and closed in the late 1990s. Waxy luster, cream-colored, rounded fairfieldite crystals to 7 mm (large for the locale and species) are nicely scattered on the cream-colored crust of holmquisite. The sliver of matrix is pearlescent mica schist. Ex John White Collection of Seattle and acquired in February, 1976, according to his label.
