Item Description

Faustite and planerite are rare hydrated phosphates and are members of the Turquoise Group. Bubbly botryoids of pastel-green fausterite and off-white planerite richly cover matrix on this rich and showy piece from the famous Bingham Canyon copper mine. There are also tiny, glassy lathes of the uncommon phosphate, crandallite, sprinkled about. Excellent combination material from the Bob Trimingham Collection, with even the mine level known in this renowned open-pit copper porphyry deposit.
