Item Description
Ferberite is RARELY seen from Cavnic, and I honestly think this might be the best example of the species that we've had to offer from this locality. A handful of good quality, sharp, bladed, jet-black colored crystals of Ferberite aesthetically sit atop an oxidized Pyrite matrix. The largest Ferberite measures 2.1 cm and is in excellent condition. A few of the smaller Ferberites are contacted, but considering how hard it is to find these specimens, especially a showy display piece like this, the incomplete crystals can be forgiven. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11182). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
