Item Description
A worthwhile display specimen of Ferberite from Bolivia. This species was sometimes previously referred to as "Wolframite", which was supposed to be an intermediary species between Ferberite and Hubnerite but has since been discredited. The piece features several sharp, lustrous, aesthetic, jet-black, balded crystals of Ferberite with minor associated "needle" Quartz on the side on matrix. These Bolivian Ferberites are often underrated and stand up well against any other Ferberites from China or Panasqueira. In great shape overall with the main 4.1 cm crystal in good condition. Some broken crystals on the side, but nothing terrible for this material. Valued at $450.
