Item Description
A fine, crystallized example of the rare-earth species Fergusonite from this important locality, this consists of columnar, tetragonal, mottled gray-brown crystals. The Fergusonites are in Orthoclase, and the specimen is capped by lustrous Biotite Mica. The largest Fergusonite is 2 cm in length, and where there is some edgwear you can clearly see just how glassy these crystals are. An impressive thumbnail, particularly for the locality!
