Ferrierite-Mg (fine color and quality)

Item Description

A big showy cabinet display specimen of the rare zeolite Ferrierite-Mg from the Mt Oladri Quarries in the Monastir area on the island of Sardinia, Italy. These are certainly some of the finest and most colorful examples of the species ever found. This specimen features several radiating aggregates of rich reddish-orange colored Ferrierite-Mg measuring up to 6 mm across, associated with dark brown crystal clusters of Calcite and tiny white "sprays" of Mordenite on matrix. Most of the Ferrierite groups are undamaged, though there are some contacted areas, keeping the piece from being completely pristine.
