Item Description

A striking, nearly transparent, colorless and doubly terminated, fishtail-twinned gypsum crystal from the famous Lake Gilles of South Australia, Australia. The crystal is included with clay particles and the specimen looks like a glassy arrowhead! Lake Gilles produces some of the most unusual gypsum crystal forms in the world. Very nearly pristine, with only super-trivial edge wear. Most certainly an unusual looking specimen! It looks carved! See the Mineralogical Record article in the May-June, 1982 issue, Vol. 13, No. 3. Ex Dennis Mullane Collection. Older material.
