Item Description

An aesthetic, intergrown, floater cluster of lustrous, translucent to opaque, brown gypsum blades from the famous Great Salt Plains area, near Jet, Oklahoma. Some of the crystals have faint hour-glass sand inclusions, for which the locality is renowned for. The long blade is 5.6 cm. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, which is very hard to get, for this soft mineral. Highly representative of this noted locale. Ex Jaime Bird Collection and dates to the 1960s or 70s.
