Item Description

The Igarape Bahia Mine is actually a gold deposit, and actually a fairly significatn one as it produced 72 tons of god in its existence, which means it's actually the largest gold producing mine in Brazil. I've never seen any gold from Igarape Bahia, but the most famous mineral specimens are the beautiful pieces of Florencite-(La). This piece is a great example of this material with a full coverage of wonderful green color Florencite-(La) sitting on gossan matrix. The color is really what matters here as I've seen brown specimens that are not nearly as attractive as these lovely green ones. A rarity to be sure, and certainly not common on the market. Don't pass this one up species collectors. Formerly in the collection of Paolo Matioli of Brazil.
