Fluor-uvite - Uvite Series (Tourmaline)

Item Description

These crystals for many years, were labeled as Uvite Tourmaline. Recent analysis has lead to be labeled as part of the Fluor-uvite - Uvite series. Unfortunately the two species cannot be distinguished visually, so it's impossible to know which species this is without analysis. With that said, it appears that most pieces that were labeled previous as Uvite are likely to be Fluor-uvite, but we are labeling these specimens going forward as Fluor-uvite - Uvite series. This thumbnail sized piece features fine quality, sharp, lustrous, compressed trigonal crystals of a rich burnt orange color on the edges, and more of lighter golden hue in the center (best seen when backlit) and no matrix. The crystals look beautiful up close and especially with some backlight. A fine quality thumbnail of these world-class "Uvite" crystals.
