From the famous Paraiba locality for cuprian tourmalines, occasionally pops up stunning blue-hued apatite crystals such as this one, aesthetically emplaced on a matrix of drusy, pink lepidolite. The fine miniature sized specimen features a lustrous and translucent, purplish blue crystal of apatite, 2 cm across. Apatite is extremely rare for this locality, and this is an unusual specimen from finds in the early 2000s. The 3-dimensional perch of the apatite really makes the piece special for its aesthetics. It is complete all around! Crystals like this should fetch over $1000 if and when seen for sale. Also, it could trim to a boxbuster large thumbnail!
