Absolutely CLASSIC for the Cerro de Mercado iron mine, the Fluorapatite here simply jumps off the matrix with impact in viewing - it is so contrasted to the matrix, the sudden appearance of this gem crystal is shocking, in context. Rising 2.3 cm, the prismatic, yellow-green Fluorapatite is as gemmy and lustrous as you could possibly ask for. Like cut glass, this instantly-recognizable specimen catches your eye, and it is exactly what you would want to have cross your path. Adding to the allure is the rich layer of Hyalite Opal that has its renowned, neon-green fluorescence. Showy, highly-representative, and aesthetic. It is literally a gem frozen in the matrix rock.
