Item Description

A classic specimen of Fluorapatite from Panasqueira featuring sharp, prismatic, translucent crystals measuring up to 6 mm with tan compressed Siderite crystals and minor Muscovite. The Apatite crystals show a soft blue hue. The piece is in good shape overall, with only a few superficial nicks. A great old specimen of this beloved material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12041) with a label from A. Berger of Vienna, Austria that states this piece came from a Professor Pohl of Vienna. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
