Item Description

This mine has produced some gorgeous, albeit small examples of Fluorapatite. This piece is a lovely thumbnail from this well-known Li-rich pegmatite featuring a 3 mm beautiful purple color hexagonal crystal of Fluorapatite sitting aesthetically on the thin bit of matrix. Classic material, and very difficult to find on the market these days. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8020). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
