Item Description

Pretty lavender zoned apatite crystals are aesthetically clustered on the contrasting lustrous, platy cleavelandite matrix plate. The terminated, lustrous, translucent crystals have a striking shimmer to the striated prism faces. The central complex crystal cluster is 1.6 cm and the sculptural edge cluster is 2.0 cm. Bright yellow SW UV fluorescence. Classic and excellent Afghanistan apatite, probably from the well-known Mawi pegmatite. Ex Herb Obodda and valued by him at $500 over 13 years ago. It is worth more today. It has several fine presentation views.
