Item Description

Purple Fluorapatites are always high on any collector's list, and this miniature from the mountains near Shigar should help fulfill those lists. The largest Fluorapatite crystal is 1.7 cm across and 1.6 cm tall, with the overall cluster being 3.3 cm across as it sits on Feldspar. The Apaptites have deep purple cores and gemmy, clear outer portions to the crystals, with good luster. Where contacted along the base, the exposed Fluorapatite demonstrates the classic yellow fluorescence that you would expect and hope for. This is a fine, dramatically purple miniature, not only for the famous region but for this highly desirable species, as well.
